HeritageCON 14 2022: A Scale Modeler's Paradise at the Canada Warplane Heritage Museum


Greetings, fellow scale model enthusiasts! FineScale Modeler magazine recently embarked on an exciting adventure to the Canada Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope, Ontario, where the visit us, at HeritageCON XIV.


HeritageCON 14 2022 - A Scale Modeler's Dream Come True

Scale modelers from Ontario, Quebec, and even the United States gathered at the Canada Warplane Heritage Museum, and it's safe to say that HeritageCON 2022 lived up to its lofty expectations. The event was an absolute treasure trove for anyone passionate about scale modeling, aviation history, and military heritage. It was the fist show after Covid hit us.


A Feast for the Eyes

The scale model showcase at HeritageCON 2022 was nothing short of impressive. With a staggering 729 models gracing the tables, each one was a miniature work of art meticulously crafted by the 674 entrants. The level of detail and craftsmanship on display was awe-inspiring, making it clear that the scale modeling community is alive and well.


Diverse Themes and Expertise

One of the standout features of HeritageCON was the wide variety of models on display. From intricately detailed military vehicles to finely tuned aircraft and ships and real space models and sci-fi, there was something for every scale modeling enthusiast. It was a testament to the diverse talents within the community and a reminder of the endless possibilities this hobby offers.



A Community United

HeritageCON isn't just about the models; it's also about the people who create them and share this passion. With more than 1,700 attendees, the event was a meeting place for old friends and new, all brought together by their love for scale modeling. Conversations flowed as freely as the inspiration, and it was heartwarming to see the camaraderie among attendees.

Of course, no scale modeling event is complete without recognizing the incredible talent on display. HeritageCON 2022 featured an awards ceremony to celebrate the best of the best.
