Dear IPMS Hamilton Members and Enthusiasts,
Our May 2022 meeting was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the captivating presentation by none other than Ken Woodruff. Once again, Ken wowed us with his incredible talent and craftsmanship, this time with his remarkable 1/48 OP 2N Neptune build. Let's delve into the details of this inspiring presentation:
Ken Woodruff's OP 2N Neptune Build:
Ken, as always, left us in awe with his dedication and attention to detail as he took us on a journey through the construction process of his 1/48 OP 2N Neptune model. His ability to breathe life into a scale model aircraft is simply remarkable. Throughout his presentation, Ken generously shared tips and techniques, leaving us all inspired and eager to take our own modeling skills to the next level. His passion for the hobby sets a high standard for all of us to aspire to.
A Special Tribute - Aircraft 10 and "Jake" Jacobs:
Ken's presentation was more meaningful when a member shared that his his uncle fly's OP 2N Neptune similar to the model that Ken build, who served as a Flight Engineer in VO-67. Jake's legacy lives on through this stunning model, a testament to Ken's craftsmanship and his deep respect for those who have served in that conflict.
"Jake" Jacobs was more than a remarkable man; he was a gentle giant of a person who had a wealth of stories to share about his time in VO-67. He continued his service as a flight engineer on both C-130s and P-3s, forming a unique bond with Ken, who also had experience with these aircraft. Jake's dedication to the US Navy, spanning 30 years of service and culminating in his retirement as a Warrant Officer, is a true testament to his commitment and honor.
Closing Thoughts:
As we wrap up another fantastic meeting, let's carry the inspiration from Ken's presentation forward into our own modeling endeavors. Our club is a place where passion, creativity, and camaraderie thrive, and Ken's presentation reminded us of the incredible stories and people that can be celebrated through our shared hobby.
